Plantations
Magnolia Plantation and Gardens was founded in 1676 by the Drayton family. It is the oldest public tourist site in the Lowcountry, and the oldest public gardens in America, opening its doors to visitors in 1870 to view the thousands of beautiful flowers and plants in its famous gardens.

Middleton Place is a National Historic Landmark and a carefully preserved 18th-century plantation. It was the home of four important generations of Middletons. Visitors are invited to tour the Gardens, the House Museum, and the Plantation Stableyards.

Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens - In 1743, the son of Major John Boone planted live oak trees in two evenly spaced rows approaching his home. It took two centuries for the massive, moss-draped branches to meet overhead, forming today's natural corridor that is a must see.

Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum - Includes the legendary aircraft carrier USS Yorktown and the destroyer USS Laffey.
